To the victor go the spoils

The Tigers took their obligatory national championship trip to D.C. this week to visit the White House and meet the president. Had my recent trip to the Capital occurred just seven days later, I might have bumped into the boys from Baton Rouge somewhere on the National Mall.
It's nice that Bush took time out from his busy lame-duck second term to greet the team. Maybe he apologized for Katrina, too.

I bet he was impressed with their new bling.

Bush spent about 10 minutes with the team on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday, according to LSUsports.net, which supplied all of these pics.

Head Coach Les Miles gave Bush a No. 7 home jersey, a reference to the 2007 championship season, and team captain Jacob Hester gave the president a bronze football. They should have taken this guy with them.
