We ended Friday at a bar called
South Central in the neighborhood of
Vauxhall across the Thames River from central London. The bar was hosting its regular weekly social,
Chunk.

The event even has its own banner. You'll no doubt note the similarity to the Chicago Cubs logo. In fact, the guy depicted on the right side of the banner is wearing a Cubs jersey. And I noticed several guys in the bar wearing Cubs or Chicago-related garb. I'm not sure what that's all about.

Rex enjoyed a cigar . . .

While I drank a few pints of
Staropramen, a Czech lager that was recently added to the South Central's beer pumps.
Chunk attracted a large (mainly in the sense of numbers) and friendly crowd, not unlike the one found at Cafe Lafitte in Exile, the closest thing I had to a home pub while living in New Orleans.
