Mission Dolores

I'm heading back to San Francisco tonight after a brief return to S.D., but I needed to catch up on posting the final pics from last weekend's trip to S.F.This is Mission Dolores, the oldest building in the city dating back to 1791. The larger, more ornate church to the right is the basilica which was completed in 1918. It was nice to see mission's interior unobstructed. When I was in S.F. for the first time in the early 1990s, the church was undergoing a major restoration and scafolding blocked the altar.

The nave of the basilica was still decorated for Easter.

St. Francis of Assisi watches over graves in the cemetery next to the mission.
